Our client is looking for a Mainframe Technologies Lead to oversee projects and application development in the Minneapolis, MN area. This role requires extensive experience in mainframe technologies and a strong understanding of the SDLC process. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and support to both onsite and offshore teams.
Responsibilities
- Play the role of Mainframe Technologies Lead for projects, service requests, enhancements, applications development, support, and maintenance
- Understanding the business requirements/user stories and lead the effort in analysis, estimate, design, build, testing and implementations of solutions
- Participate in design review, code review, and provide necessary feedbacks. Unleash ideas for continuous improvements and value additions in existing business processes
- Coordinate with business partners, cross commit teams, offshore teams, and external vendors starting from requirement analysis till implementing end to end solution
- Provide necessary supports during the production installs and fixing the issues postproduction Install
- Performing systems testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing and providing necessary supports during UAT
- Provide subject matter expertise support to other internal cross commit teams in operational tasks and for any production issue that needs immediate attention to avoid SLA miss
- Participate in Disaster Recovery exercise
- Status reporting to other leaders and stakeholders of the projects
- Should work in onsite and offshore operational model
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members in the team
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution
- At least 8 years of experience in Information Technology industry with applications development experience in Waterfall and Agile environment
- Through understanding of SDLC process
- At least 6 years of applications development experience using Mainframe skills like COBOL, JCL, VSAM and IMS
- At least 3 years of experience in DB2, SQL, CICS and MQ
- At least 3 years of experience in tools like Changeman / Endeavor for code migration, JOBTRAC/ZEKE as Job scheduler, Debugging tool like Expeditor, AbendAid, FileAid, SPUFI, DB2 Platinum and DB2 FileAid
- At least 2 years of experience in XML
- At least 2 years of Production Support experience
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Minneapolis, MN or be willing to relocate to the area
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of REST API, Web Services and understanding JASON format
- Knowledge of Service Now for incidents management and SharePoint for document management
- Knowledge of software testing tools like HP ALM Quality Center and JIRA
- Knowledge of MFT (Managed File Transfer) is a plus
- Knowledge of translating functional/non-functional requirements to system requirements
- Experience working in Financial Services Industry (preferably in Investments/Asset Management)
- Ability to work in a team in a diverse/multiple stakeholder environment
